After three months, the NetSolar Construction duo has completed their first home in the Metro Verde subdivision, which was built to achieve LEED platinum certification. Cousins Javier Cabrera and Emmanuel Dominguez began building the home at 3602 San Clemente Ave. in August with the intentions of constructing an energy-efficient and environmentally minded residence all within a matter of months.

NetSolar aims to build LEED homes with SIPs
When cousins Javier Cabrera and Emmanuel Dominguez decided to begin their own construction company, they wanted to provide the area with a something different – structural insulated panels (SIPs).
Establishing NetSolar Construction in March 2011, the cousins used their knowledge of construction, engineering and architecture to utilize the energy-effi cient building material in Las Cruces and El Paso.
“We saw a need for this and had talked about (starting our own company) a lot,” Cabrera said.

Walls go up at NetSolar home in Metro Verde
The empty lot at 3602 San Clemente has begun to take shape as the walls of the residence are set in place the week of Sept. 10.
Javier Cabrera, co-owner of NetSolar with his cousin, Emmanuel Dominguez, said after they broke ground Wednesday, Aug. 15, they have been able to make headway on the property, which is being built to LEED platinum certification, as is the company’s property at 3638 San Clemente.

New homes on the once vacant lots at 3602 and 3638 San Clemente Ave. have now taken shape, with the framework and roofing recently completed.
NetSolar Construction, which is building the properties to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design platinum certification, has made great strides in reaching its complete date, set for the end of October.

NETSOLAR CONSTRUCTION SHOWS HOW EASY IT IS TO BE GREEN
NetSolar Construction is the brainchild of cousins Javier Cabrera and Emmanuel Dominguez, both originally from Chihuahua City, Mexico. Cabrera studied architecture – specializing in bioclimatic architecture, or green building – at Instituto Tecnológico de Chihuahua, and Dominguez studied civil engineering at Autonomous University of Chihuahua before fi nishing his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University.
